Discover curling and immerse yourself in it!

An occasion where curling meets sliding for an exceptional frosty experience.

Begin with an afternoon initiation to understand the practice of this unique sport, characterized by a blend of strategy and precision on an ice rink (Tignes Lac).

Then, glide joyfully on the snow, becoming the stone yourself, in a friendly 1v1 or team competition, aiming to reach the center of a target on inflatable sleds (Tignes, Val Claret, Grande Motte).

Slide and Precision: The Captivating World of Curling

Included in the Winter Olympic Games events in Chamonix, France, in 1924, curling underwent a prolonged exclusion only to make a strong comeback at the Nagano Olympics in Japan in 1998. Since then, curling has been a regular discipline at the Winter Olympic Games.

Did you know?

The stone or rock used in curling is polished and weighted to glide on the ice towards the target, called the “house.”

Traditionally, curling stones were crafted from granite, specifically from a quarry on Ailsa Craig Island in Scotland, a prestigious reference known for providing high-quality stones. It’s undeniably a sport deeply rooted in Scottish culture.

Over time, other materials have been experimented with to create curling stones, including composites and granites from different sources.

Here’s another unique activity, as often happens in Tignes. Make the most of this February to discover all that you can do here!
